Description
As a kid growing up near here back in the late fifty's and early sixty's, there were a lot of small dairy farmers like us .
I would milk six cows every morning and every evening seven days a week with no reprieve, they produce every day, not when you would like them to, so it had to be done. It taught me a certain work ethic that has stood me well over the years. Scenes like this are vanishing fast.
In 1935 there were approximately 6.8 million farms with a population of 127 million citizens, now there are 2.2 million farms out of a population of 313 million.
Progress keeps on going and the memories and images are what we have left. I love old barns and farms and maybe you do to. I like walking by and seeing these old farms hanging on my wall. I used to sell real estate and once had a client I had spend over two years trying to find just the right farm for. One day I had to take some paperwork to his private office and noticed an image of an old family farm with a widows walk on the farm house. I knew immediately what he wanted in a farm and found it the next day, he had it hanging on his wall the whole time it was just like what he had in his mind and just didn't know it. Pictures are worth more than words. Hang one on your wall they make good conversation pieces.
