Description
One of the memories I have was hunting with my Dad .
I remember once he took me along with a bunch of his fellow workers, hunting out on another farmers land and it resembled this little corn patch.
Just as we approached the corn a couple of pheasants flew up right from under our feet . The anticipation was so great for the hunt that day,
you just
couldn't believe the excitement from a 12 year old kid.
This was new territory for me not just the same old corn patch and woods on our 105 acre farm.
We were allowed to bag two pheasants each and boy was me and my trusty little 410 shotgun ready.
Dad had already told me now, this guy is my boss and I want to make sure he gets some birds, Dad didn't have to say any more.
I was so fast on the draw at pulling up my gun and shooting down the birds they finally ask Dad if I hadn't better walk behind them, you know for safety.
So I obliged and started taking longer to shoot until they had fired their guns then I would try, but my little 410 was limited in range compared to their big auto 12 gauges. Of course back then unless you were hunting ducks you could load 5 shots into your gun, where as my 410 could only hold one. It was a great hunt and wonderful memories and like this photo will last on and on.
