Description
I was raised on a farm locally here in Highland county. We had an old Farmall H very similar to this old M. I can't even begin to count the hours spent on this old tractor.
I learned how to yodel, whistle, thru my teeth and sing louder than the tractor could, and that was just starters . I worked a lot for other farmers also and during my summer going into my senior year I worked every day for Leo J. Brielmeyer who owned 1000 acres from 7am in the morning until 10 or 11 PM every night, but one night , all summer long.
I took my girl friend to the drive in movies and promptly fell asleep and at 1pm she said I thought I had better wake you or else we will be here all night. Red Clark the foreman's son David, worked right along with me , we worked so many hours that Mr. Clark almost got into a fight because the owner wouldn't believe it.
Mr. Brielmeyer said to work as long as we wanted
I had a strong motivation you see I wanted a better car and I got it it was the talk of the town I bought two Studebaker's and put them together into one car and had all leather interior and new blue carpets so thick you wouldn't want to drop anything for fear of losing it. Yeah these old tractors give me a soft spot in my heart I'll never forget. If you have someone you know was raised on the farm send them this photo I'm sure they will enjoy it as much as me.
