Description
Not to far back most of the kids I knew lived on small farms and in small towns scattered around the country. Now it seams like they mostly live in bedroom communities and big towns and cities. Back then it was necessary to build large two story homes because most everyone had large families. They needed the large families to take care of the farms, raising their own crops like garden vegetables, grain, chickens, beef, hogs, sheep, and fruit . Sometimes even trading work or one thing for another with other farmers. I think it was better, because it taught a better work ethic, created a loyalty ,togetherness and a love for Nature and our environment. These old farms are fading fast and I like photographing them to help preserve the past they once represented.
