Description
After spending 2 weeks at my sisters in Kentucky , "who lives on top of a grass knoll with hay fields all around", especially during early May, presented me with new birds to photograph.
I was able to capture some interesting birds of a different species than I have here at my heavily wooded home in Southern Ohio .
Birds such as the Blue Grosbeak, orchard Oriole, Eastern Meadowlark, and the rarely seen Bobolink.
But probably the best was my images of her bluebirds nesting in a box with a beautiful branch of the rare Red Dogwood . I thought WOW what a natural colorful contrast, I must have taken several thousand pics in the 12 days I was there.
Bluebirds do a lot of their talking with body and wing movement, they do this to not give away their exact location and still carry on the needs to build a nest and feed their young.
It's really interesting to watch their movements when you see one or the other come near the box with a worm or bug in their mouth and signal the other is it OK to come on in.
I have tried to capture some of the wing talking ,but it happens so fast it's really hard to catch.
I hope you enjoy this colorful collection:
